FAQ'S

What should I expect during waxing?
The area to be waxed will be cleaned with antiseptic lotion to remove bacteria and dead skin cells. You will be lightly powered to make sure the area is completely dry. Warm wax will be applied and removed either with or without the use of a non-woven strip, depending on the type of wax suited for your skin.

Are there conditions that would limit or prohibit me from waxing?
If you have any of the following conditions in the area to be waxed, it is best for you not to wax:
  • Cuts or Abrasions
  • Warts or Hairy Moles
  • Use of Retin-A, AHA or BHA within the last 2 weeks
  • Use of Accutane within the last 6 months
  • Lupus
  • Hemophilia
  • Epilepsy (No seizures within the last 6 months)
  • Herpes Simplex
  • High Blood Pressure (May bruise easily)
How long should my hair be?
Ideally hair should be between ¼" to ½".

How quickly will the hair grow back after waxing?
You will see longer lasting results if you wax regularly, every 4-6 weeks. After multiple waxing sessions, there will be a significant difference in the time it takes for your hair to grow back. Over time the hair should become fine rather than course like after shaving.

Will waxing irritate my skin?
While redness may occur, the skin should be able to recover rapidly. Redness indicates that the hair was removed from the root, rather than superficially broken off like in shaving.

How should I care for my skin after waxing?
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot baths and direct sunlight for 24 hours after waxing.
  • Avoid using highly fragrant products in the waxed area.
  • Avoid harsh abrasives or exfoliators in the waxed area. If you are prone to in-grown hairs you may exfoliate once hair growth has begun.
