Sunscreen Information

The number one cause of skin aging and damage is sun exposure. It is recommended that your sunscreen contains no less than an SPF 15, and should include UVA protection with titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, avobenzone or Mexoryl SX (or Tinosorb outside North America). The SPF factor only indicates UVB (surface sunburn) protection and an SPF over 30 doesn't offer any better protection from UV rays. Sunscreen should be worn at all times, regardless of how long you will be out, and should be reapplied frequently (every 40 to 80 minutes especially if you are swimming or perspiring, even with water-resistant sunscreen).

My recommendation is to look for sunscreens that are sold at spas/salons, doctors offices, or if it has the skin cancer recommendation stamp on it when sold over the counter. Consider Pevonia's Moisturizing SPF 30, PCA Skin Hydrator Plus SPF 25, Obagi Medical SPF 35 - 50 or Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion SPF 30.
